Filipiniana Section: Paging and Shelving

My entire work in the Filipiniana Section was basically paging and shelving and shelving and paging.

I realized that this is the work that I would expect a librarian would do.

Basically the student will write the information about the book -- call number, author, book title and their name, student number, and college-- on a paper provided on the reference desk

After which the librarian will go to the shelves and look for the book.

If the book is available and have a yellow card, then the student can read it and borrow it. If the book has an red orange one then it is only for room-use and cannot be borrowed** Reserchers.

Upon giving the book to the student, the librarian must ask for the students' ID and clip it together with the paper and the librarian will put it in the organizer container (I don't know what it is called HAHA!)

If the students want to borrow the book then they can give it to the librarian and the student must fill up the necessary detailed in the book card and the librarian will scan it and record it and there you go the student can borrow the book.

If the student does not want to borrow it then they can give the book back to the librarian and the librarian will give the ID back to the respective student and the book will be put into the "Shelving Cart"

Opposite to Paging, where the librarian will take out the book. Shelving is returning the book to its rightful place on the shelves.

***Paging and Shelving are a bit tedious because there are a lot of students requesting and only a few librarians are available and the shelf markers are confusing since they told me that its out dated. They could have updated it sometime before so that it won't be a hassle.
